Week of March 5

Hello!

Math CRT's are Monday and Tuesday for all students.
Science CRT's are Wednesday and Thursday for 4th graders only.

No spelling this week.
In my reading class, we will begin our new story on Friday.

Keep your calendars open for March 22. It is the K-4 spring concert at the West High Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

Hello!
Here is what the schedule looks like for this week:
Reading - Monday and Tuesday : Practice for CRT's Wed - Friday CRT's
No spelling for the week.
Math - Monday and Tuesday : CRT practice Wed: CRT's Thursday and Friday : Volume
Social Studies : I have Mrs. Kangas' homeroom. We are learning all about Montana

Week of February 21

Monday - No school
We will be working on the following:
Reading : New story is Dogzilla. The vocabulary words are: fiery, within, mysterious, emergency, panicking, horrifying, ancient, scientific, prehistoric, immediately
Spelling : Long "i" words which are : alike, while, eyes, white, line, lion, size, miles, times, nice, drive, tiny, write, inside, mine, and shine.
Math : CRT practice and measurements
Social Studies: This is the last week that I have my homeroom for Montana past and present.
Start getting rested up for the CRT tests!

Week of Feb. 6

Reading - We will continue in our reading book. A story will be sent home each week to read and be signed.
Next weeks story is The Albertosaurus Mystery. Vocab words for that story are:
fossils, buried, clues, remains, location, skeletons, fierce, prove, uncovering, and evidence.
Spelling words for the week are: lovely, just, something, hundred, done, some, sum, must, shove, won, butter, cover, supper, none, number, and one.
Social Studies - We will continue our study of Montana.

Week of Jan. 30

Gosh! The month of January flew by!
Here is what is happening for the week:
Reading : We will finish our polar bear book on Tuesday and then begin a new story on Wednesday.
Vocabulary for our new story on Wed.: hardly, global, pollution, complicated, shade, rubbish, carton, recycle, project, and dripping.
Spelling words: slept, February, them, never, when, many, sent, kept, September, best, friend, then, cents, Wednesday, guess, and better.\
Social Studies: We will continue our study of Montana. We will focus on the buffalo and Native Americans as an introduction.
Re-test on Monday for any missed questions on the Montana fact test.

Week of January 23

Reading - We will continue our non-fiction book on polar bears. There is no weekly story to read.
Spelling words: from, Sunday, money, under, nothing, summer, does, mother, lunch, month, such, front, much, sun, other, and Monday. Be sure to study any words that have been misspelled from the previous spelling test.
Social Studies: We are beginning our study of Montana!

Field Trip- On January 27, the 1-6th graders will attend a field trip at the Alberta Bair theater. More information will follow.

Week of January 16

Monday - No School
Reading - We are beginning a new chapter book called Polar Bears and the Arctic.I will be guiding them through the book and discussion.
Spelling - No spelling this week
Social Studies - We are finished with our science block. This week we begin our
Montana unit which will consist of 6 weeks. I have my homeroom kids for the first 6 week block.
New AR points - Mrs. McMorris and Mrs. Staffileno's reading classes will be required to earn 15 AR points for 3rd quarter. 9 points need to be fiction while 3 pts are required to be non-fiction and Native American.
