Week of March 31- April 4

Hello!

In reading we are starting the novel, Sarah, Plain and Tall. This is a wonderful story about a mail order bride and two children needing a mother.

Math - We continue our study of fractions.

Social Studies - We will talk about famous people that have had an impact on Montana and why they are famous.

Spelling words this week (concept: ear, are, ere, air words)
near, care, fire, where, hear, wire, stairs, deer, ear, year, tire, here, dear chair, air, and hair. Test will be Friday, April 4.

Week of March 25- 28

Hello!
I hope you all had a nice break! I am sure the kids will be ready to work hard when they come back from a restful break.

Early out - Wednesday ( March 26 )

Reading - We are starting the novel Sarah, Plain and Tall. We will spend about 2 weeks on this book.

Math - Comparing fractions will be our focus.

Social Studies - Yellowstone National Park, George Armstrong Custer and Chief Joseph will be covered

Spelling - No spelling this week due to a short week.

Week of March 17 - 20

Hello!

Reading - We are reading a story from a Judy Moody book .

Math- We continue to work on fractions.

Social Studies with Mr. Leintz's class - Study of bison and Yellowstone National Park.

Spelling - No spelling this week. However, kids who missed any words last week will be retested on Thursday.

Week of March 10 - March 14

Hello!
I hope you all had a chance to look over your child's midterms. The quarter ends April 2.

Early out this Wednesday, March 12.

Reading - We are starting some new stories in the basil. Watch for a large folder in your child's backpack and they will read it to you.

Math - Fractions!!!!

Week of March 3

Hello!
We have been working very hard in school despite the tractors and loud machines outside of our windows. The construction has begun on our new classrooms!

AR points for the quarter: Every child needs at least 5 pts of NON-FICTION. The goal is 20pts by April 2.

Mid-term grades come home on March 7.

Reading: We are just finishing up our novel Lumber Camp Library.

Math: We just started our 2 month unit on fractions
